HOW TO GET TO COPENHAGEN CITY HALL?

When we ask our bridal couples how they will arrive in Copenhagen, we often get different answers. Someone orders flights and lands at Copenhagen Airport. Others choose to drive by car/bus/train across the Danish border.

For those who do not know how to get to Copenhagen, we have listed you with options you can choose for your needs and wishes.

If you land at Copenhagen Airport, you can take the Metro, taxi, bus, or rent a car and drive towards Copenhagen City. Depending on the traffic, it can take from 15 minutes to 30 minutes.

THE STORY BEHIND

The city hall was designed by the danish architect Martin Nyrop and the design for the building was inspired by the town hall of Siena, in Italy. Construction began in 1892, and the hall was opened on 12 September 1905.

You can get married any day of the week, except Sunday and Tuesday.

Can we book a date at Copenhagen City Hall as soon as the Agency of Family Law has approved my wedding in Denmark?

Since Copenhagen City Hall is in demand by many bridal couples, there will usually be a wait for several weeks before getting a wedding date. As soon as the Agency of Family Law approves your wedding, we will book a date with you at Copenhagen City Hall.

Can we bring our witnesses to the wedding ceremony?

Yes, you can bring two witnesses. You must let us know if you have any witnesses to inform the staff at Wedding Office.

If you do not have the opportunity to take witnesses, then Copenhagen City Hall will provide witnesses.

What days should we present the documents?

You can arrive at Copenhagen City Hall on the same day as your marriage ceremony. The Wedding Office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

You must bring your original passports and present them to the wedding office staff if you have residency permits.
