How many copies of the marriage certificate I can obtain?
Normally, the marriage office brings (two) copies of your marriage certificates signed by the official authority.
If you need more than two copies, you can obtain them, and we can request them from the office for you before or after your wedding.
Is it possible to change my name to my married name?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the name on the wedding certificate because this document only provides the originals names from passports or ID cards at the time of the wedding celebration.
If you would like to change the name, you must only do it with the competent authority in your country of residence after your wedding.
In how many languages the wedding certificates is?
Currently, it is only available in five languages: Danish, English, German, French, and Spanish.
What happened with the document that the witnesses signed?
This document is the original marriage certificate signed by the authority, spouses, and witnesses. Because of this, it must be kept in the archives of the Danish City Hall for 50 years, and it is not possible to obtain it.
How can I find out what my marriage certificate will look like?
